Baths or Showers? We Break Down What People Prefer By State.
When it comes to locally targeting your customer base, the more you know about them the better. That’s why this clever study conducted by QS Supplies is so provocative.
Just as our post about favorite candle scents by state drills down on local candle preferences, this study considers whether the populations of each state in the US is a bath or a shower fanatic. (Gives new meaning to our favorite hashtag #tubtuesday).
The marketing department at QS Supplies went to work analyzing geotagged tweets that included keywords relating to showers, baths, and bathrooms to draw their conclusions.
As it turns out 44 states out of 50 prefer baths over showers! That’s a little surprising and very valuable if you happen to do marketing for bath and body brands. There were just 6 states that prefer showering: Alabama, Idaho, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire.
But the study doesn’t leave it there. Bath states give way to shower cities — Seattle, San Jose, Raleigh, Buffalo, and Providence are among the 19 cities that prefer showering over soaking, despite their state’s bath-positive identification.
